Summer Camp Ardèche, France

9th July 2011

Today the older campers went climbing on a Via Feratta mountain route, which means "road with irons" in Italian. Because they are equipped with fixed cables, stemples, and ladders, Vie Feratta routes are more accessible to a wider range of people in sometimes rather isolated areas.

In the afternoon the French Group learned about cave and rock formations as they crawled around in the cool muddy darkness that is caving.

The rest of the campers enjoyed a variety of sporty activities that ended with a refreshing swim in the Ardeche.

After dinner we divided into 6 groups to design carriers for team eggs that were then catapulted into the air. We purchased the materials for keeping out eggs protected in an auction. The winning teams'egg survived without a scratch.
