Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Excursion to Montpellier!
Today the campers woke up to what promised to be an exciting day! After eating a healthy breakfast we all got in the bus and headed off to Montpellier, where we would be spending the entire day.
We arrived there at around 11am, walked through the university to the Place de la Comedie and jumped into the Little Train, a train that offers a commented tour through the historical center of the city. We got to see popular places such as the flower market, a replica of the Arc de Triomphe, the Royal Peyrou plaza, the Fabre Museum, the Charles de Gaulle Esplanade and other important plazas and buildings. The campers enjoyed the city while eating their packed lunch. After the wonderful tour we all went to see The Man of Steel, the latest Superman movie! The campers also had some time off to do personal and souvenir shopping in the Galerie Lafayette mall.
We set off back to Salavas at around 5pm. We got there right in time to eat a delicious meal at the restaurant La Casa! We all got to choose between pizzas and burgers, and afterwards enjoyed ice-cream. All to top it off with a remarkable thunderstorm in the distance while reading exciting chapters of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...
Phrase of the day: I haven t been everywhere, but it s on my list.
- Breakfast: Fresh bread, jam, nutella, assortment of wheat cereals, yoghurt, orange juice, fresh fruit
- Lunch: Packed picnic lunch
- Dinner: Pizza or burger and ice cream, yummy!
