Exploring France!

Today was a sunny, hot and also wet and rainy day in the Ardeche! The campers ate a healthy breakfast and geared up for a day full of fun filled activities.

The River Goats and Rats practiced their biking skills at camp in order to prepare themselves for a challenging mountain bike day. Packed lunch, sunscreen and lots of water... ready to go! The campers biked through the beautiful Ardeche, while enjoying the nature, fauna and amazing views of the area. We all then had lunch at a relaxing spot where the riders were able to eat under the shade and freshen up in a natural pool. The day was full of up hills but we were all happily rewarded for the hard work with a well-deserved ice cream, yummy!

Meanwhile, the French Magpies headed off to the exotic crocodile farm in Pierrelatte, which is home to more than 350 species of this incredible animal, as well as giant tortoises. They then spent the afternoon exploring the streets of Avignon, where the 67th edition of the Avignon Theatre Festival is currently taking place. The Magpies were able to watch the musical show Kid Manoir 2: La Malediction du Pharaon; and even participate in it!

Today s evening was Movie Night! The campers watched Sherlock Holmes while eating popcorn and drinking some pop. We were all able to relax after a very busy and fun day. Tomorrow, more! Phrase of the day: Live beautifully and dream passionately!

  • Breakfast: Fresh bread, jam, nutella, assortment of wheat cereals, yoghurt, orange juice, fresh fruit
  • Lunch: Packed picnic lunch
  • Dinner: Salad buffet, mushroom risotto, lamb with beans and carrots; fruit salad for dessert!
