Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Grand Descent
Apologies folks for the lack of news update yesterday - our internet was down all day and has only just returned. The weather here hasn't been good - the Via Ferrata team had to cancel yesterday due to forecasts of a thunderstorm and so returned to play games and prepare for the descent. The French Language students and young River Adventure campers enjoyed a trip out to the Pont du Gard.
It's morning here now at Village Camps and the rain is still coming in. We are supposed to be leaving for the Descent at nine thirty but will await more information from Moose. Until then, everyone is still excitedly getting ready!
UPDATE (9:00 AM)
Full steam ahead! It's still overcast and drizzly, but reports are showing that the weather should clear by about lunchtime (fingers crossed!)
Everything is going ahead as schecdule, and we aim to be at the bivvy site tonight by 6.00 PM. We won't be back at camp until tomorrow evening, and so pictures and news won't be updated until tomorrow evening. See you then!
- Breakfast: A selection of breakfast cereals with fruit, yoghurt and honey. Baguette with butter and jam. Orange and apple juice.
- Lunch: Wraps with a healthy selection of salads, hummus, cheese, salami, ham, eggs, avocados, sauces, pickles, and veges!
- Dinner: tba
- Subject to change. Vegetarian options always available.
