Arrivals Day!!!
The first day of camp has dawned and we are all so happy to welcome the campers!
I'm Pebble, the photographer, and I'll be posting photos and a videos on this site each day, with news, menus, photos, videos, and counsellor profiles! The team are busy putting the finishing touches on the campsite and are very excited for the first campers to arrive! Stay posted for news later this evening :)
....phew!!! The arrivals day at Ardeche is beginning to wind down. It's been a fairly late day - our first campers, Cava and Elena from Spain, arrived at about 1, with 10 other campers arriving throughout the afternoon. The bus from Geneva, with the rest of the campers, arrived at 8.30 - just enough time to put things away and sit down for dinner! After a delicious dinner and an introduction to the Kitchen Babes, everybody cleaned up their tables and cleared out to the main field, where we had our first full camp meeting. We had a brief discussion of basic rules and guidelines for how the camp works, while everyone listened keenly to cheers from the pub down the road, trying to figure out what was happening in the football match! After the meeting the camp broke into their small groups for a proper orientation and to get settled into their tents. We look forward to the first day of activities tomorrow!
- Dinner: Tonight we welcome the campers with a dinner of chicken cordon-bleu with stuffed aubergine and new roasted potatoes, green beans and coleslaw, and a lush pasta salad with basil and capsicum. For desert is an option of chocolate-caramel tart or melon. Yum!!
