Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Day 2 at camp!
PHEW!
We've just come to the end of a scorching day here at the Ardeche - the sun was shining again, with a high of 35 degrees and activities galore! We continued the second part of the two-day cycle, with groups doing half days of climbing, canoeing, caving, and flaghikes. Everybody met back at camp for a tasty lunch (with home-baked carrot cake from our star chef, Spud) and went back out in the afternoon for more.
After returning back and enjoying some free time, we all returned to the terrace for a hearty dinner, followed by a song from Pia Yasmina and counsellors Pebble, Ivy, and Unicorn. Shortly after followed an epic game of EGGSHOOT - where campers ran a circuit in teams, completing challenges to win materials. With these materials, they were all given eggs and had to build Eggships, which were catapulted over the lower meadow. The eggs that survived were broken over a nominated councillor's head! Finally, everyone headed up to the campfire circle for a story from Unicorn, and are presently heading to bed :)
Tomorrow, we will head to the Caverne du Pont d'Arc, before an afternoon of VC Olympics. Great day had by all!

- Dinner: Beef and mushroom stew with roasted spuds, and a selection of salads, pickles, olives, and breads. For desert - freshly baked cookies at story time!
