Friday is fun day in Avignon & Splashworld !

Early start for everyone at camp !

After waking up bright and early - 6.30 AM - campers headed for breakfast before packing lunches and aiming to be on the bus by 8.00 AM. Water bottles, hats, sunglasses, towels, swimsuits or swim trunks were packed in backpacks for the town visit in Avignon and the afternoon in Splashworld, the water amusement park!

When we got to Avignon, we were expecting it to be busy because of the theater festival, but luckily the town was calm and campers managed to enjoy their time there. We saw the famous french Pont d'Avignon and Palais des Papes, visited the cathedral as well as the gardens close by with the view of the Rhone river. Everybody then had a little more than an hour for shopping in the old town of Avignon.

The whole camp then jumped back on the bus to go to Splashworld for the rest of the day. We had about three hours of amazing fun in slides, pools, bouncy castles, river float and more! The weather being quite heavy today, we all appreciated spending our afternoon in the water splashing, playing or racing against each other. At about 4.30 PM the bus left with everyone on board heading back to camp for pizza night.
Pizzas that we already had been preordered from our local pizza shop awaited us for tonight's dinner. In addition to that, we had a buffet salad that our Chef Spud made for us.
Because of the big day, activities in the evening activities were kept to watching a movie and playing card games around camp. It is now bed time for all of us and we are already excited for tomorrow's ropes course, french lessons and beach party!
