Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Avignon visit and Waterpark!
The day began with a suuuuper early start - 6.30 AM - so that we could be up, dressed with the new t-shirts, have lunches packed, and on the bus by 8.00. Because we are AWESOME this worked out perfectly, and the Ardeche team were on the bus with time to spare, and before we knew it heading out of Salavas in the direction of Avignon. The sun was bright and the sky clear again! When we got to Avignon, we were expecting large crowds for the theater festival, but luckily it was very quiet and we got to enjoy the park by ourselves, with a wonderful view of the Pont d'Avignon. There was time to visit the cathedral before heading down for a giant shopping spree! Campers were able to explore the old town, visiting stores and buying snacks. As the day began to heat up, we all boarded the bus and headed to Splashworld, where everyone had a great time on the slides, lazy river floats, and tubes. It was very hot but luckily we had a spot in the shade and could keep cool in the water. At about 5.00 we jumped in the bus and headed back to camp, where Pizzas from the local Pizza shop awaited us. Everybody had a huge meal of delicious gourmet pizzas they had chosen the day before, plus salads. Because of the big day, activities in the evening were kept to throwing chilling out around camp. Everyone is slowly heading towards bed now, looking forward to the ropes course and beach party tomorrow. Thanks for the great day, everyone!!
