Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
Cheesy Colourful Monday
Today was a day filled with vibrant colours and exciting activities! The morning started off with the Greenies embracing their creative side with tie-dye and yoga. They stretched and contorted their bodies, finding harmony within themselves and with the environment. The tie-dye session was a hit! The Greenies had a blast mixing and swirling colours onto their white shirts, creating unique and funky patterns. Laughter and chatter filled the air as they exchanged tips on tie-dye techniques. The adventure Blues learned valuable survival and teamwork skills in "shelter" in the forest. Their woodland activities boosted their confidence and made them feel more connected to nature!
In the afternoon, the adventurous Yellow group set out on a hiking expedition to Temeley, a picturesque spot known for its homemade ice cream and cheese delicacies. The hike took them through a lush forest, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Upon reaching Temeley, the Yellow group was greeted by the friendly local dog, who welcomed them. They had a choice of delicious homemade ice cream flavours and an assortment of artisanal cheeses. It was a true delight for the senses, as the Yellows savoured the creamy textures and unique taste combinations, all made with locally sourced ingredients. Everyone then rushed down the mountain back to camp as a storm was approaching, lighting up the sky with beautiful lighting strikes, for some that was a new sight.
Campers got sporty after lunch, with the Reds bouldering, playing Tennis on a stunning mountain-view pitch, swimming, playing mini golf and much more!
After Dinner, the Reds were geared up for their trivia night. With their competitive spirits high, they divided themselves into teams and prepared for an intense battle of wits. The trivia Games covered a wide range of topics, they played, ‘Giants, Wizards, Goblins’, ‘Mingle’, then their team representatives had to do their best at, plank, hula hoop, cartwheel, table, paper plane, arm link balance tournament and imitate the counsellor. It was thrilling to watch with each team giving their best effort to emerge victorious. A tie breaker ended with a sensational human-pyramid showdown!
As the sun set on this colourful day of adventure and fun, The yellows had marshmallows and banana boats, while playing games like "werewolf" and "uno" for a cosy evening while the rain poured outside. While, the Blues, competed in a World Cup Tournament down at Old Sports. The Greenies took their creative skills to STEM, where they built their little robots and had a race off without wheels to see which won first!
