New Week, New Fun!

The sun has risen on a bluebird day in the Alps, welcoming the new week for our campers!

After an excursion and relaxing pool day… the campers are getting back into the swing of camp life!

Kicking off the morning, the English, French and Lab Explorer campers dove back into their exciting studies. In English, they looked at descriptive language and played a fun game of “Guess Who?” using what they had learned. In French, some students started to brainstorm ideas for their Friday Finale video. Finally, in Lab Explorers, our scientists got to have a go at being forensic investigators, conducting experiments and finding clues to reveal the truth of the “murder mystery”.

Our Greenies had a blast getting to tie-dye their VC shirts, and afterwards, they played lots of fun games including Ninja- where they got to demonstrate their “ ninjutsu” moves! After having a splash and playing with water balloons in the “Big Green” event, our Greenies saved one of our “kidnapped” nurses by solving a series of clues!

The yellow adventurers started their overnight hut hike, eager to explore more of the beautiful mountains surrounding us. Yellow sports, language, and Lab campers went on a smaller hike themselves in the afternoon. They twisted through forest paths and passed under snow-capped peaks. Some Yellows hadn’t gone on a hike before today and we are so proud of them for conquering their nerves! They were all rewarded with a stunning view! Afterwards, the remaining Yellows had a cosy campfire surrounded by the Swiss mountainscape and the dwindling light of the sky.

The Reds got in touch with their adventurous side this morning, getting to experience either mountain biking or rock climbing! After lunch, they continued with the sports theme by playing tennis, rock climbing, bouldering, playing mini golf, or going to the pool! The Blue campers had the opportunity to learn how to make fire! Our nature specialist Joe taught them about the fire triangle, how to keep a fire on and put it out safely, for the environment and the rest of the people visiting the forest. The campers got to make their own fires and they celebrated by roasting marshmallows and making smores! They then split up and got to try out a variety of activities: from bobsledding and archery to yoga and art!

The Reds, Blues, and LTC all came together in the evening for our Village Camps “World Cup”, where they split up into different countries and competed in football, basketball and volleyball to win points for them! It was a seriously exhilarating night full of comradery.

Happy birthday to our yellow colour group leader Paty, and our camper Rita- we hope you’ve both had a lovely day with us in the Alps!
