Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland
A Very Busy Fun Tuesday
Today the greens got a tour of the village and all the amenities of Leysin in the morning before swimming in the local pool. After lunch they played games in the sports field for the big green activity. They finished the day off with a camp fire and roasted marshmallows!
The yellow adventure campers started the day with archery and night line, while the sports camp enjoyed playing volleyball. After lunch the yellows all came together for the big yellow activity, where they cooled off from the hot weather with water pistols and balloons and a variety of games and activities, drip drip drop, a variation of duck duck goose was a particular favourite. In the evening we went down to the ice rink for ice skating, before settling down for bedtime.
While the red adventure boys began the overnight hike up pic Chaussy, the girls learned all about making shelters. They split into two groups, taking it in turns to create their own shelters from either just a rope and tarpaulin or simply from the resources in the forest for their branch based bivouacs. After all camp meeting the reds then went to their chosen sign up activities of either parcour, archery, st hockey, beach volleyball or climbing. Then for their evening activity they came together for a game of survival in the forest.
The blue adventure campers went climbing with our specialist in the quarry in the morning, before also doing sign-up activities in the afternoon. They chose between tennis, bouldering, mini-golf and swimming, or for those looking for a big adrenaline rush, mountain biking. After dinner they then enjoyed taking on their counsellors in the ultimate trivia challenge Are you smarter than your counsellor, before winding down with some arts and craft and creating their own tie-dye village camps T-shirts.
