Zoe Jackson ran an amazing session with us this morning.
At the age of 16 she had the dream to put on a show ran by only young people and it was a massive success. She was then asked to perform in other venues and even when arts funding was cut she rose to the challenge and found other sources of funding to make her dreams come true. Now, at the age of 26 she is running a big business called "hiring the dream" the same name as her first performing arts show. She has met the Queen of England, Severus Snape and Sir Richard Branson.
Her session was packed with creative team-building activities. She got us all dancing, acting and performing in front of the whole group.
She then did a creative writing activity where the young adults had to write about their passions, ways they could achieve their dreams and qualities they would like to develop, all whilst listening to classical music.
She finished talking about the important leadership lessons she has learnt so far. First embrace failures they are the most important part of your journey. Secondly, don't let the challenges put you off achieving what you love. And last but not least, find and follow your passion because if you do, it's alright not to have a plan, things will fall into place if you truly live your own dreams.
After yummy lunch we were heading by bus to the Villeneuve to play Laser Game! The Laser Tag is a fun indoor activity and the best thing about it is that they don't hurt!
It's a very inclusive game, and the focus is on having as much fun as possible. The moment when we got the equipment in our hands, a quick lesson is all what we needed before we got out and started having fun. We were hiding in the labyrinth, developed tactics, proficient strategy and earned points by aiming with our laser gun on our opponents! With lots of surprises around the corner. ;)
It was really fun to play! We enjoyed it a lot!
In the evening our LTC campers divided in groups by 5 were presenting their own event. Everybody was excited what our young adults prepared and organized. Each group has a very interesting presentation and we decided to vote for the best activity! We are looking forward on Friday and to have as much fun as always!
