Summer Camp Santa Cruz, Portugal
Fun in the sun!
And so we welcomed another gorgeous day here in Santa Cruz. The surfers were again well ahead of everybody else, hitting the waves in the early morning. The adventure campers on the other hand took their time in preparing well for their coastal adventure that took them on one of the most amazing scenic hikes on the coast of Santa Cruz. They had some puddles to overcome and were happy about their hiking gear when they finally arrived at the beach for a quick swim.
In the afternoon the whole camp reunited to head to the beach for our second Sandcastle sculpture competition where the campers participated in groups of 3 to 6, trying their best to impress the judges with their castles. They were judged on height, beauty and personal touch and the result brought a close winner who received ice cream vouchers - which pretty much equals gold in camp language.
We ended the evening in fun and dynamic color group activities. The blues headed to town while the reds and yellows got to engage in plenty fun games at the Pousada ranging from a werewolf to a special newly invented game by our counselors.
Our campers went to bed happy about the sunshine today and excited for their day trip to Lisbon tomorrow!
