Summer Camp Santa Cruz, Portugal

2nd July 2025

Tackling the waves of Santa Cruz

Before heading to their surf class, our surfers took part in a scavenger hunt that led them through the streets of Santa Cruz. At each stop, they completed a fun mini-game, helping them discover more about the small town. After lunch, the campers headed to their surf class. Although many were hesitant at first because of the rough waters. Several pushed past their nerves and gave it a try. A few even managed to catch some waves! This afternoon, surfers had choice activities. This means they could choose between something more sporty or something more crafty to tap into their creative side.

Our adventurers were once again split into three groups. One group was learning new tricks on the longboards whilst others went hiking and saw stunning, clear views of the coast. The last group went for a mountain biking session. In the afternoon, our adventurers got to chill by the beach and play some games. The hot weather definitely called for an ice cream break!

After dinner, campers competed in a lively sports evening hosted by our wonderful counsellor Miguel.

And as promised here are the updates from the second part of the eggstreme games. It turns out campers aren’t exactly egg-cellent at building contraptions to protect their eggs! Most of them ended up cracking on the floor after being launched from the first-floor balcony. Only two teams managed to keep their eggs intact!

Now the campers are off to sleep, to recharge for their long day tomorrow!
