Summer Camp VDC Singapore

12th July 2013

Special Day Friday a Great Success!

Special day #3! We mixed things up today and had campers in teams across the age groups. The 8 - 12 year olds had the Inaugural Fuzzy Games of Singapore Day Camp, and after many competiions throughout the morning, the Blue Bears prevailed in an exciting finale. The campers also played a number of invasion games, building upon the skills that they have been developing over the past week.

Once again, the teamwork on display was exceptional with our older campers supporting their younger teammates in overcoming some tricky challenges. Opportunities to lead by example were significant and they did not disappoint. The younger campers were entertained with a craft activity in the morning, led by our Arts and Crafts specialist - Kyra, followed by some drama games and a sing-song with Jono. 'Olly the Octopus' proved to be an instant hit with the kids, and a game that was played on more than one occasion due to the kids excitement and eagerness for more.

The older campers finished with some entertaining skit performances that they developed throughout the afternoon, before returning to the Sports Hall for an all camp meeting and our final farewells to our departing campers. We hope to see some of these faces again next year.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our final group of campers next week. The programme is ready, the counselors are ready, and we can't wait to start next week on a high!
