Summer Camp VDC Singapore
An Action-Packed Day to say the least!
Thursday was our penultimate day of camp. It was my favorite day so far this summer. The energy around camp was amazing. In every corner, there was a buzz of excitement. It started with torrential rain, but nothing was going to dampen our spirits. Our Singaporean friends reassured us that if it rained early, it was often really sunny later in the day? With that in mind, the activities got off to a flyer.
Our gymnastics programme involved group balances, as well as some impromptu flight sessions from springboard over box. The handspring proved most popular. The kids swam in the rain, and enjoyed their final lessons, with our instructors continuing to find the right balance between skill drills and fun games. Meanwhile, in music, the older campers were being introduced to a song that they would be performing tomorrow during our final All Camp meeting.
Although the sun never fully broke through, the rain did stop and the highlight for many was seeing a couple of their counselors thrown in the pool (fully clothed!!!). Cameron and Christian have always been game for a laugh, and today they definitely took that extra step - too far it would seem! The kids were definitely amused.
Tomorrow is not only the last day of the week - but the last day of our summer story here in Singapore. We are looking forward to an action-packed finale!
