Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Movies and International Night!
Today is one of our last full days. We have one more after this, so today was the day that the camps spent finishing up the last few things that they had to do.
The blue adventure campers participated in VC Survivor. The yellows went to the lake to go sailing and the reds biked to the lake to go stand up paddling.
The language camps went to the local fire station where they got to practice their language skills by listening to the fire men explain what they did for a living and they got to handle all of the equipment and see what it was like to be a real fireman.
Today was the first of two film days that we got to see the films that they have been working on. The film camp spent the morning touching up their films and then in the afternoon the rest of the camp came in and viewed half of the films, and tomorrow we will watch the rest.
After the movies were over for the day the campers were sent to their rooms to pack and clean so that it is not all left to last minute. After dinner was a very fun and educational evening activity. Two days ago the campers had been split into groups of countries, many worked on the country they were from, but many crossed borders and went to other countries. Each country had 5-10 minutes to present something about their country. The countries that were presented were Spain, Italy, France, Russia, Lebanon, Syria, Norway, Czech Republic, South Africa, Germany, Switzerland, The United Kingdom and The United States. They discussed national dishes, preformed dances, produced slide shows and sang their national anthems. The night was a fantastic success. The campers were all into the performances and were respectful of the others.
After the performances were over the campers were sent to bed. Tomorrow is the last full day of camp.
