A Day in Salzburg: History, Fun, and Hidden Surprises
Today was a special day at Village Camps Austria as our campers set off on an unforgettable trip to the beautiful city of Salzburg!
The day began with a hearty breakfast and packed lunches as everyone prepared for the adventure ahead. The Yellow and Red groups started their day at the famous Hellbrunn Palace, a stunning location known not only for its historical charm but also for its role in The Sound of Music. Campers had a blast exploring the gardens and dodging the palace’s famous trick fountains—followed by a sunny picnic on the lawn.
At the same time, our Blue group explored the iconic Mirabell Gardens, another picturesque filming site from The Sound of Music. Surrounded by history and flowers in full bloom, they soaked in the beauty of Salzburg’s old-world charm.
In the afternoon, all groups reunited in the city center for two exciting hours of shopping and sightseeing. Campers wandered through quaint streets, picked up souvenirs, and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of Salzburg.
As the day came to a close, the excitement wasn’t over yet. Our Blue campers were whisked away on a surprise evening adventure—a fun-filled bowling night, complete with pizza and burgers.
Back at camp, the Yellow and Red groups returned to a cozy BBQ dinner, followed by a friendly bowling session and a fun trivia night all about the counsellors.
