Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Mini Descente day!
Sunday, sleep in day! We all got to sleep in a little bit more than usual, and got a good night rest. The delicious hot breakfast was followed by the morning activities. The French class got creative and made the last night special dinner menus for all, while a few River dudes baked a wonderful dessert for tonight: Nutella cheesecake and apple pie. Others decided to spend the morning on the river, cliff jumping from our Big Friendly Rock.
After lunch we all hopped into our canoes and headed off for an afternoon on the river, where the campers got to practice their canoeing skills on moving water and prepare for the Grand Descente, on Tuesday. We stopped for snacks under the beautiful Pont dArc, where some of the paddlers decided to go cliff jumping, others made cool signs with rocks and the rest just chilled and enjoyed the sun.
We all arrived to camp pretty hungry. To our surprise, Dave (or Wolverine) was already preparing the barbecue! We all enjoyed delicious burgers and chicken for dinner, and the oh so yummy dessert that the River campers had prepared for us this morning.
Our chosen evening activity for the day was suddenly interrupted by thunder and lightning, so we all went for plan B, Mafia game in the common room!
Story time is over now, and we are all ready to go to bed after this great day. Good night and thank you to everyone!
