Summer Camp Ardèche, France
Singing in the rain!
Today was a very wet rainy day, but nothing could stop our campers from having the time of their lives!
After a healthy breakfast, the French students headed off to their French lessons although, this time, they had to find a place away from the rain! The River campers hopped onto a bus and enjoyed the morning at Aven d'Orgnac, where they got a tour through the stunningly beautiful caves. The Frenchies were also lucky enough to do the tour in French during the afternoon, plus a visit to the Neolithical Museum, where they had the opportunity to discover a special exhibit on caving expeditions of the local area and the cavemen that used to live in this region.
The River dudes enjoyed the afternoon by monkeying around in a natural indoor climbing spot, located right next to the beautiful Ardèche River.
The campers gathered for dinner and loved todays pasta carbonara! Our evening activity of today was preparing for tomorrows Grande Descente. We collectively made a list of all that we need to bring with us, after which the comrades packed their stuff and spent the rest of the evening practicing with the diabolos, playing ping-pong and chatting with friends.
Before story time our kitchen babes brought in some muffins and hot chocolate that we all appreciated, oh so much! The campers are ready for a good night sleep, as the next two days we will be off on the GD, paddling the river, barbequing and enjoying each other's company!
