Sunny Rock-Climbing Triumphs

Good morning from VC, What an exhilarating day we had here at our summer camp. The sun greeted us with its warm embrace as we embarked on a day filled with outdoor adventures and evening delights.

The day began with a burst of energy as the Adventure Yellows led the way to the rock climbing site. The towering Quarry stood against the blue sky, challenging the campers to conquer it. With harnesses secured and helmets snug, our determined campers scaled the rocks with admirable determination. Laughter, shouts of encouragement, and the rustling of gear filled the air as they made their way up.

Meanwhile, the Adventure Blues gathered for shelter building amidst the embrace of nature down in the Suchet. To begin with they played a game of camouflage, while our adventure leader Kylie searched for them within the bushes and behind trees. After they began to build some basic shelters, Armed with branches, leaves, and their creativity, they constructed imaginative shelters that could rival even the most advanced treehouses. Kylie taught them how to make a Bowlin Knot, and strongly secure a tarp in between the trees. The forest echoed with their excitement and the sounds of their teamwork.

The sun reached its peak as the afternoon session began. Inexperienced Red group members eagerly faced the challenge of rock climbing, some of them trying the sport for the very first time. The camaraderie between the climbers and their encouragements to overcome fears were truly heartwarming. The warm breeze carried their cheers and sighs of accomplishment to all corners of the camp.

As the sun began its descent, after dinner, the temperature remained high, but that didn't deter the Blues from taking to the ice. Ice skating brought a refreshing change of pace. Gliding and twirling on the smooth surface of the rink, they showcased their skills and laughter rang out in the air. The Reds gathered around a crackling campfire, their faces illuminated by the dancing flames. Marshmallows toasted to perfection were devoured as stories and laughter filled the air. The warmth of the fire mirrored the bonds being formed amongst the campers.

Back at camp, a unique game unfolded as the Yellows and Greens partook in a petting zoo with a twist. Our creative counselors transformed into animals, hiding all around the camp grounds. The challenge was set - the campers had to find and identify these "hidden" creatures. Giggles, curious whispers, and jubilant cheers echoed through the halls as they embarked on their exciting quest. After they got to wrap a special egg in all the materials they were provided and bombed off the roof, if it survived there would off been a punishment for one of the naughty animals who had escaped from their petting zoo.

And so, another unforgettable day at summer camp draws to a close. Laughter, courage, and newfound friendships were the themes of today. As the stars twinkle above, we rest under the starlit sky, eagerly awaiting the adventures tomorrow holds.
