Sports Day In Switzerland "Best In The Field"
We had another thrilling day here at Village Camps, packed with exciting activities from sunrise to sunset. Campers were in for an action-packed day, with a challenging hike, various sports, and water games galore.
As the sun rose over the picturesque Pic- Chaussy Mountain landscape, our campers were already up and ready for a day of adventure. The morning kicked off the Blues engaged in a friendly competition of football and baseball. While the rest of the campers packed their bags for an over night stay at our beautiful hut hike up at Pic - Chaussy. They battled up the mountain, and reached the peak to an extraordinary view of the alps and down below a small tiny Leysin. After a packed lunch they races down and had dip in our glacier lake with the friendly local dog. While the Adventure Yellows had an adrenaline-pumping rock climbing session. Also Battling their fears of heights and tackling the hardest routes, to reach the top. They cheered each other on epically and full of enthusiasm.
After a hearty lunch that refueled our campers, the afternoon was all about cooling off and embracing the summer spirit. Secret Friends was very entertaining with a visit from our oldest counsellors, who have been here since 1972! they read out and shared the secret letters to all our young campers. The much-anticipated "Big Red Mashup" took place, featuring a series of water games that left everyone soaked and grinning from ear to ear. The scavenger hunt, organized by the yellow adventure team, brought out the inner explorers in our campers. Meanwhile, the sports enthusiasts gathered for some intense volleyball matches.
As the day transitioned into evening, the energy didn't wane. The red team took to the ice for an invigorating ice skating session, showcasing their grace and balance. Simultaneously, the yellow team engaged in friendly yet competitive matches of football, basketball, and volleyball.
The Blue Mountain Hut hike, which was the highlight of the day, tested the campers' endurance and rewarded them with breathtaking views from the summit. and in the evening they enjoyed a BBQ with some toasted marshmallows over the campfire.
