Excursion Day
What another beautiful day in Switzerland! We left camp this morning at 9 to head off to Geneva and Montreux. We spent the morning at the United Nations headquarters and were able to tour several different areas and sit in meeting rooms where history has been made. Our guide pointed out several interesting pieces of artwork given to the UN from many different countries.
After our tour we got back on the bus and were transported to downtown for lunch, relaxation and shopping.
In late afternoon we loaded onto the bus again and drove to Montreux, where the last day of the world renowned jazz festival was taking place. We had time to explore, enjoy a bit of live music and eat out on the town. A few raindrops fell but didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The day was filled with laughter, loud singing on the bus, smiles all around and mostly sunshine.
- Breakfast: bread, meat, cheese, assorted yogurts, museli and mixed fruits
- Lunch: bagged lunch
- Dinner: camper's choice out in Montreux
