Summer Camp LTC, Leysin

19th July 2013

Happy Friday!

It is a beautiful sunny day in the mountains today! After breakfast we met downstairs for a talk by our very own David Allen. We discussed what makes a leader a leader, watched and listened to a few leadership movie clips, broke into pairs to complete a challenge with our hands tied together. David also discussed respect for others, the value to making a good first impression, as one is made in 30 seconds or less, encouraged us to find our joy, unchain ourselves and believe.

After a filling lunch, our team broke into two groups, one took the cog down to Aigle to enjoy the sunshine and pool for the afternoon and the other travelled to a nearby town for a rousing game of laser tag.

Our evening activity was a highly anticipated and even more highly regarded talk by Kerry Max Cook, a man who spent 22 years on death row in Texas for a crime he did not commit. His story is a powerful one and provides numerous messages, examples being that forgiveness will set you free and the importance of never giving up on your dreams.
