Team-building day
Today after breakfast our campers enjoyed a very interactive talk by Zoe Jackson.
When she was 16 yrs old she had the dream to put on a show ran by only young people and it was a massive success! Her dreams come true and now, at the age of 26 she is running a big business called "hiring the dream" the same name as her first performing arts show.
Her session was packed with creative team-building activities. She got us all dancing, acting and performing in front of the whole group. Then Zoe did a creative writing activity where the young adults had to write about their passions, ways they could achieve their dreams and qualities they would like to develop, all whilst listening to classical music. She finished talking about the important leadership lessons she has learnt so far.
Following a nice lunch, we began The Amazing Leadership Event - village-wide scavenger hunt. Campers were given a list with set of 23 challenges to complete: carrying the grocery bags of a local to their car, learn a story about the village, find the ingredients of a fondue, create with their bodies the Swiss cross, taking a picture with the train conductor and capturing counselors dressed up as animals were some of the many ways our young adults interacted with the local community.
It allowed them to get to know the area, as well as getting pushed to explain themselves to strangers, be polite and creative.
The best team won an ice cream. Yum!!
After free-time and dinner, the campers played two games in groups. All in all, the day was tiring but very enjoyable for all involved.
- Breakfast: Buffet - cheese, ham, bread, eggs, yogurt, cereals, fruit, juice
- Lunch: Fried chicken, Pasta, Tomato sauce, cheese, Peas, Carrot, Salad buffet
- Dinner: Salad buffet, Roasted veal with thyme juice, Chicken skewer, Buttered croquettes, Carrots, Broccoli, Cake, Mousse with chocolate, Fruit salad
