Expeditionist Charlie Walker gave an inspirational talk to our LTC campers this morning. Detailing his adventures from the UK to the most northern point in Scandinavia to the most southern point in Asia and then onto Africa.
He gave a detailed account on the hardships he encountered and how the local people he met along his journey kept him going. He told us how hospitable the people were and on one occasion felt like they had sawed his life.
After listening to Charlie tell his story and be inspired by the incredible pictures from the various 60 countries he had visited, the LTC campers set out on planning their own adventure. They had to work as a group to plan their trip, taking into consideration all the challenges they might face & how to effectively work as a team. The campers then presented their expedition, working on their public speaking.
It was a great morning, which has definitely given a few our campers the travel bug.
The afternoon activities included several leadership outdoor games, on the grass and in the forest, le Suchet. For example they practiced trust as they had to get over the "Great wall of China", overcoming certain fears and helping each other push beyond their comfort zones. Then an activity that required the campers to be blindfolded and guided by their teammates around obstacles! These games were very amusing but also productive, that promote cooperation, trust, communication and team building.
The weather was again very beautiful and bright, and the campers and counsellors enjoyed it a lot. And as for today it's phone free day they didn't complain a lot ;)
After free-time and dinner, the campers were separated into teams and had time to prepare 2 skits with specific instructions but free to imagination. The skits presented were really creative. The campers made evidence of all their skills, talents and very good team bonding. The entire group enjoyed a very animated night.

- Lunch: Grilled calf sausage, Roast zucchini, Rosti, Salad buffet, Strawberry cake, Mousse with chocolate, Basket of fruit
- Dinner: Salad buffet, Breaded cutlet poultry, Potatoes, Grilled zucchini, Green beans, Pasta, Stracciatella mousse, Caramel flan, Fruit salad
