Day 1 at LTC Village Camps 2023 in Leysin, Switzerland
The long-awaited first day of camp has finally arrived, and it kicks off with a delicious breakfast, providing the energy needed for an exciting and active day ahead!
During weekday mornings, we have the privilege of hosting guest speakers who deliver engaging lectures on various topics, all centered around our core theme of leadership. Today, our esteemed Program Director, David Allen, introduced himself and delved into both theory and practical exercises, setting the tone for a transformative experience.
After a satisfying lunch, we embarked on an exhilarating adventure to the High Ropes course, a short 30-minute drive from camp. Equipped with the necessary gear and thorough safety instructions, we ventured onto the course. Each participant began with the foundational routes, starting with the yellow and green courses to acclimate themselves. Once comfortable, everyone had the freedom to select their preferred route from an array of options, including the blue, the challenging red (the highest route), and even the thrilling 250-meter zip-line.
During our evening program, we had a spirited "Odd Ball Olympics" event. Divided into our three counselor teams, we competed in a series of entertaining games. The victorious teams were rewarded with their preferred choice of chocolates, while the less fortunate ones graciously accepted the responsibility of undertaking some camp chores.
Day 1 was filled with excitement, personal growth, and camaraderie as we embarked on our journey at Leysin Village Camp 2023.
