Summer Camp LTC, Leysin

8th July 2023

Excursion day !

After an early breakfast to fuel us for a busy day, we all boarded the coach at 08:30 to head down for an exciting fun filled day. Our first destination was the Red Cross Museum in the heart of Geneva. The museum was very interesting and insightful with an array of exhibits and installations. All of which were equally thought provoking and heartfelt. All of the campers came out with a greater understanding of the important humanitarian work the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement does across the globe.

Then for a change of activities we ventured further into Geneva for a special shopping trip. As well as the wide array of high street and high end retailers to choose from we also got to visit the beautiful Jardin Anglais and witness the famous jet d'eau. After a few hours of shopping it was time to get back on the coach to head the world famous Montreux Jazz festival. The festival was a buzz activity with a plethora of street traders and food stalls. Each camper was given 20 Swiss Francs to spend on dinner from classic Swiss dishes to cuisine from the Levant. Churros were a particular favourite. The live music which permeated through the air made the atmosphere truly alive, making it near impossible not to dance.
