Summer Camp Paphos, Cyprus
Shopping time & Greek Dancing!
The Mediterranean Adventure group spent the morning at the beach where they played a variety of team games such as relays, blind-folded games and tug-of-war with some time allowed for free swimming. The English Language students continued with their lessons at the camp and Kristina's group held an interview with Andreas, one of the Camp Managers to prepare an article on his background and future plans that was later posted on the announcements board.
The afternoon was reserved for a much-anticipated visit to the brand new King's Avenue Shopping Mall that includes many of the best known shops. Our campers were happy to run freely in this shinning shopping centre and buy some gifts for their family or themselves. We had dinner at the food court of the mall, each camper being allowed to choose their restaurant of their preference.
The evening activity was Greek Dancing! Thanks to the efforts of our Cypriot counsellors, Michael and Georgia, campers and staff members received a basic lesson of Greek dancing at the village amphitheatre under the summer moonlight. Most were fast to learn the steps and it was then a matter of practice and repetition. The lessons ended with the entire group dancing together and with a major sense of accomplishment.
