Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
First Excursion!
Today was a busy day! As all of the campers get used to the schedule it speeds up! The German class went on an excursion in the morning to practice their German. The adventure campers were busy all morning. The yellows played sports all morning while the reds went to the lake in Zell am See and went in kayaks. They did really well and were all able to get back in their boats when they flipped over or fell out during the games. Unfortunately the waterproof camera refused to work so there will be no pictures of that today. The film camp was also busy as they began to shoot their movies today.
This afternoon the campers will be going to the Krimmel Waterfall for their first big all camp excursion!!!
The campers were led on a long hike up a mountain side near the picturesque waterfall where they could see some breath taking sights from many different angles and have a great experience with their new friends. One the way back down the campers were give free time and allowed to stop for an ice cream if they so desired.
In the evening the schedule got changed up because of the weather. The schedule had originally said that the campers were going to take part in a stock market themed game. However, the weather was so nice that a campfire was held. Counselor Ben had his guitar and others played games with the kids as dusk fell and night set upon the camp like a dark blanket enfolding the entire valley. The classic campfire marshmallow was produced and the campers got to roast them as their evening snack before the campfire was declared over and the campers were sent to bed tired and ready for the next day!
- Breakfast: Yogurt, ceral bar, fresh fruit, cold cuts and vegetbles.
- Lunch: Cold starter, fillet of chicken, polenta, salad bar and cake.
- Dinner: Cream Soup, Lasagne and Salad Bar
