Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Off to the Mountain Hut!
Today was only a half day at camp because today was the fun excursion to the mountain huts that the campers got to do.
The day started off quiet, this was Saturday of course, so there was no film or language camps. The entire camp went down to the local swimming pool after a yummy breakfast where they got to swim in the sunny weather all morning before coming back and eating lunch.
After lunch came the big adventure. The campers were driven to three different locations. The yellow campers were at one mountain hut called the Salzburger. The red and blue girls were at the mountain hut named Furthermoar-alm and the red and blue boys were at a different hut named Pinzgauer. The campers were dropped off and then they had to hike up the hill to where they would get a yummy dinner and spend the night in the beautiful setting high up in the Austrian alps.
After dinner the campers got to play fun games and do team building exercises with the enthusiastic counselors. The older girls played a fast paced dressing up game that had a reward of chocolate if they competed their task before the other teams.
The campers all had a fantastic time up in the mountain huts. Tomorrow they will hike back down to camp where they will have a lazy Sunday afternoon where they can conserve their energy for the second week of camp that begins on Monday!
