Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria

Excursion to Salzburg!

Today was such an awesome adventure for all of the campers!

We started just after breakfast, by boarding the buses and doing a head count before heading to Salzburg for the big day excursion that all of the campers had been looking forward to!

Our first stop was at a palace that had some very special fountains that the guide demonstrated on the campers with glee. The campers had been told to bring rain coats and we soon found out why. The fountains had been designed 400 years ago for a member of the Austrian royal family. The designer had loved the fountains and had taken pleasure in inviting guests to the palace and doing to them what was done to the campers on the tour.

After the tour the damp campers sat down to enjoy a packed lunch by a playground before hoping back on the buses and heading into the old town of Salzburg where the campers were given two hours of free time and shopping with the option of visiting either the science museum or Mozart's house.

The campers had a fantastic time and several made steps to McDonald's before checking in at the half way point and then going back out.

After a fantastic day in Salzburg the campers got back on the bus and we drove home.

In the evening we were supposed to have The Battle for Piesendorf. However, due to some bad weather we had a counselor hunt instead. Six counselors took on different personalities and hid all over camp and then the campers had to find them. It was a mystery and the campers had to figure out who had stolen Director Stu's water bottle. In order to earn the clues the campers had to perform tasks for each counselor when they were found.

After a crazy hour of running around the camp the campers were sent to bead for a well deserved rest.
