Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Fun in the Sun!
Today the camp woke up to bright sunshine in which we could still see some snow on the highest peaks of the distant mountains.
Breakfast was a normal affair, in which the campers ate and learned what they would be doing today. At the end of breakfast counselor Laura organized some of the campers to serenade counselor Jacie with the song 'Call Me Maybe,' a song which Jacie is not a fan of. The campers all had a fantastic time either singing at the top of their voice or cheering them on.
After breakfast the different classes started in their respective classrooms. The film camp has two days before we see their films, so all of the editing stations are occupied and the cameras are all checked out.
The language camps continue to work on verb conjugation and vocabulary. The campers have been able to practice their German and English here at camp, and have improved remarkably.
The adventure campers were all busy doing some fantastic sports. The yellows went into Zell am See to do Stand up Paddle Boarding while the blues went sailing. The yellows stayed at camp and went down to play beach volleyball and to go swimming at the local pool.
After lunch the campers all got to go off an do multi-activities. The reds took off for the indoor pool in Zell where they spent hours on the diving board and on the slide. The yellows got to take part in kick ball, rock climbing, archery and gym sport activities. While, the blues got to play tennis and ultimate frisbee. They all arrived at dinner hungry and exhausted.
At dinner the campers were greeted by the sight of counselor Ben and camper Stepan who had both lost tennis games and as a consequence had to dress up as the opposite sex. The entire camp found this hilarious.
After dinner the campers finally got to go down to campfire. Bad timing and bad weather had made it impossible until this night. The campers got to sing songs and play games and roast marshmallows for a couple of hours before they hiked back to the main camp and visited the bank to check out money for their exciting adventure to Salzburg tomorrow!
