Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
Salzburg trip day is finally here!
Hi all, today was the day - all the campers went on a trip to Salzburg. At first they visited Hellbrunn Palace (some of the scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed there!) with the hidden fountains and after that they went to the city centre where they had free time for shopping and exploring the city. I interviewed some of the campers and this is what they told me:
'Water castle was my favourite. There were many hidden fountains, like water traps, and so we got went in the end, but it was quite funny.'
'Shopping time was the best. I found the shoes which I wanted to buy for more than 3 months. In the end we also managed to visit a teddy bear shop.'
'Salzburg is a very clean city. Little, but beautiful and cosy. I thought it would be really cold there as it is up on the hill, but it was quite fine. I also like the little shops with souvenirs.'
'I liked that we had free time for shopping. I bought a t-shirt for my brother, and kaleidoscope. I would like to spend some more time there.'
'Water fountains were my favourite. Even though it was wet and cold, but it was very very much fun.'
'I liked the big park next to the Hellbrunn Palace, in which we had our lunch. There was also a playground and all of us went there to play. I bought a Mozart chocolates for my parents.'
'We visited a little market, where locals were selling hand-made clothes and other things. It was nice to walk around there.'
They arrived back at the camp at the dinner time. Here in Zell am See it was raining the whole day, so we spent the evening inside and played the EGGstream games. EGGstream games are all about the team work and strategy. For example, a team gets three pillows and they need to think of a way how to cross the room without touching the ground. Another exciting activities are coming on, and we all are very excited about tomorrow, when we all will finally get to see the final films by our film students.
- Breakfast: oatmeal with cinnamon, cereals, chocolate musli, milk, hot chocolate, tomatoes, butter, cheese, bread, strawberry / raspberry jamsa
- Lunch: packed lunch at the park
- Dinner: Potatoes Au Gratin, roasted vegetables, salad bar, mushroom sauce, vegetable sauce, ice cream
