Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria

19th July 2018

What a day for a daydream

This has been incredibly beautiful day, just perfect really. One of the sunniest and warmest days we have had here at the camp. Thursday is the excursion day. Adventure campers went to Krimml Waterfall. There is a hike to get from the station to the Waterfalls and then climb up a bit, so it was physically challenging, but that is what adventures are about.

Language students went to the National Park Centre Hohe Tauern Mittersill. It is an interactive museum about nature and you can learn about the local surroundings - mountains, glaciers, animals that live there, plants and rocks. The most appreciated elements were the caves of marmots which were made in size big enough for campers to go in and pretend to be these animals. There was also a huge piece of ice, which, surprisingly, was not melting in the museum (magic). After that we went to the playground next to a field of apple trees, quite a nice setting.

Film students went to visit Diesel Kino - a cinema theatre near by Zell am See. Before that they started practical part of their film course -- shooting their short films. It is happening, and it is in progress, films are being made..

Our evening was rather calm after this active day and everyone enjoyed the campfire. Songs, marshmallows, football, badminton, frisbee, sunset, pink clouds - you can have anything and everything from this here in Austria.

Warm greetings and goodnight.
