Summer Camp Leysin, Switzerland

International Night !!!

To begin the morning, The Greenies, were prepping for their skit and chopping up fruit like ninjas. The yellows had an orientation activity, about being lost in the forest and finding their way back using traditional maps and compasses. The Red's and Blue's had an adventure filled excursion outside of camp, Red's climbed their way through the forest at High Ropes and Blue's Wished and washed along the river in Rafting Boats.
In the Afternoon, All of the campers played Capture the Flag, where they divided into two teams and scurried their way through the forest to find the opponent teams flag. Once they did, they had to work together not to get captured and return it back to their colours base. a very exciting and action packed game, to the victorious group
The campgrounds were filled with an electrifying atmosphere as campers and staff came together to celebrate "International Night." It was a fantastic showcase of cultures from around the world, featuring countries like Australia, the UK/Ireland, The Arab Nations, Spain, France & Switzerland, USA/Canada, The Asian Nations, and even Greenland!
The Australians kicked off with There were exciting show off Steve Irwen, where he fought crocodiles and observed kangaroos. to finish it off it was a H2O just add water mermaid. G'Day Mate!
Next up, we explored the rich cultures of the UK and Ireland and their tea drinking culture. They represented the countries of, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. They also enjoyed some yoghurt with someone else hands. A Celtic Extravaganza
The magical world of the Arab nations. A stunning display of traditional greetings dressed in colorful fabrics transformed the event area. They represented their football team and had an amazing dance off as a massive group. A Night of Enchantment
The energy soared as Spain took the spotlight. They spoke about their famous cities and showed off football skills from Barcelona. The event area transformed into a vibrant fiesta, echoing with laughter and joy, when they danced the Macarena. Flamenco Fiesta!
The celebrations continued with a fusion of American and Canadian cultures. They had a debate about who was the better country, compared to hockey and basketball, maple syrup and fast food, Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson. A Tale of Two Nations
The Greenies performed a cool Greenlandic experience. Refreshing treats like fresh fruit salad and bringing an end to a memorable night. A Cool Arctic Adventure
International Night at the summer camp was a true celebration of diversity, unity, and friendship. It provided a unique opportunity for campers to learn about different cultures, appreciate their differences, and find common ground. As the night concluded, the campers and staff left with hearts full of warmth and memories that will last a lifetime.
The Kids all drifted off to sleep, ecstatic and over the moon. Exhausted yet still excited about their last day tomorrow. Goodnight for tonight.
