Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria

17th July 2013

Excursion to Krimml Waterfall

What a day! The mornings activities are starting to feel like a real routine: campers are up at 7:30, ready for breakfast and off to activities at 9:00 am. Today there was more language learning, and film campers began to scout locations, write screenplays, and start filming their masterpieces. Mountain and Adventure campers were off rock climbing, doing team building activities, and hiking in the nearby hills.

After a busy and fun morning, all campers went on an afternoon trip to the Krimml Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Europe. The hike up the waterfall, although tiring, was beautiful and scenic. The Krimml Waterfall was a wonderful afternoon excursion. The entire camp had a chance to mingle as we explored the steep path up the side of a mountain and stop for an ice cream treat at the top.

Tonight's entertainment was "Egg-cellent" games and the new Village Camps version of the Hunger Games! Campers competed in different tasks to win points and eventually build contraptions to protect eggs which will be dropped off of a balcony. If the egg survives, they are allowed to break it on top of their counselor of choice. YIKES.
