Summer Camp Zell am See, Austria
What A GORGE-ous Wednesday!!!
Today started very grey as the campers headed to their morning activities after breakfast. English and German camp met in their classrooms to resume their daily activities, while Film continued to work on their projects... We have already spotted a few campers who have started filming! Mountain & Lake Adventure went off site today: Yellows tried SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard) on the lake in Zell am See, Red and Blue Boys went indoor rock climbing, and Red and Blue Girls rode bikes from camp to play mini golf.
After a tasty lunch and our All-Camp Meeting, the entire camp took an excursion to the beautiful Sigmund Thun Klamm- a gorge in our nearby mountains. We hiked inside the gorge feeling the water splash and spray us as it tumbled down the mountain, then hiked up to the top where we found a gorgeous green-blue lake. Upon reaching the top, our campers excitedly ran into the water to take a dip only to quickly realize that the water was FREEZING COLD! The water temperature only deterred a few campers from a swim, meanwhile the majority weren't phased and continued to splash and swim for the remaining of the afternoon... Brrrrr!!
For our evening activity, we played a fun game called Stock Market where our Blue campers represented different companies and tried to persuade groups of Reds and Yellows to invest in their wacky products. Chaos ensued as the Stock Market opened and buying and selling of shares began. Prices rose and dropped unpredictably and campers scurried to and fro the tables to make the most out of their investments. At the end of the day, the stock market crashed and a winner was found out of the group who retained the most profit... What a crazy-fun day!!
